Installation
Download the
following file
openrules_8.1.0.models.zip (~19 Mb) - Examples of business decision models including thsoe described in this book.
Unzip it to your hard-drive. After unzip, the folder “openrules.models” will contain executable OpenRules sample projects. Each project has its own subdirectory such as "Hello". OpenRules libraries and related templates are located in the configuration project “openrules.config”. You may execute any project by double-click on the file “run.bat” from a regular Window Explorer. You may find a detailed description of a sample project "Hello" in the Getting Started document.
You may also download
the workspace
openrules_8.0.0.services.zip (~16 Mb) with OpenRules-based microservices
created using Maven, SpringBoot, and Docker as
described in this
tutorial.
To start using OpenRules within Eclipse IDE, simply import all projects from the downloaded folder "openrules.models" into your Eclipse workspace.
You always may request and receive the source code.
Useful Hints
- Under Windows, you cannot have spaces in the path where OpenRules is installed. So, instead of the installation path such as "c:\Program Files\openrules" you would rather use something like "c:\openrules".
- If you use Linux/Unix, you probably already know how to replace “run.bat” with “run.sh”.
Note. This evaluation version does not include additional OpenRules components available with the Complete Production Version of OpenRules:
- Eclipse Plugin
- many additional rules projects
- OpenRulesAnalyzer and What-If Analyzer
- rules-based web questionnaires
- working samples of constraint satisfaction and optimization problems.
